FROM a wedding venue in a historic castle being approved to Carlisle's Travelodge expansion plans, here are the latest planning and development stories you may have missed last week.
Approved wedding venue at Greystoke Castle
Plans were approved to turn a residential castle into a wedding and corporate event venue with an accompanying cafe and restaurant.
The castle, which dates back to 1353, is expected to see a host of extensive repair work, refurbishing kitchens, upgrading heating, fire safety measures, and alteration of the rear courtyard area.
Carlisle's Travelodge plans for 22 additional rooms
The hotel, on Cecil Street, seeks to convert its existing office space on the first floor into additional hotel rooms.
Cottage in disrepair to be demolished
A cottage near Dalston, which has fallen into disrepair and is currently uninhabitable, could be demolished and a replacement building put in its place.
Static caravan plan submitted to council
Plans for a static caravan in Moor Row have been submitted to Cumberland Council.
It is for a site in Dalzell Street which is used as a small holding by Wendy Rigg who has owned the land for more than 25 years.
Milking parlour near English/Scottish border approved
A new milking parlour can be built at a farm near the English/Scottish border after Cumberland Council granted planning permission for the proposal.
Application for improved leisure facility in Cleator Moor
The Cleator Moor Town Deal has made another step forward with the submission of a planning application for a modern leisure facility.
Camerton Hall Workington planning requests submitted to council
Plans have been submitted to Cumberland Council to replace doors and a window at a historic hall near Workington.
